Zane Barrus: One Tutor to Teach Them All

Hi! My name is Zane Barrus. I’m a high school math and science teacher for a private school on the Treasure Coast, and when I’m not at school, I’m working with math and science students from all over St. Lucie County. I understand how hard it is to do well in a course, where the concepts are complex and the teacher is too busy or unwilling to help outside of regular class time. Whether you are trying to conquer a class or just survive a semester, I pledge to never walk away from an appointment until you have the tools you need to succeed.

I have over 500 hours of tutoring experience and have worked with over 60 students since 2013. I earned a bachelor’s degree in microbiology from Brigham Young University, where I worked as a teacher’s assistant in the Departments of Microbiology and Chemistry. I also have laboratory experience as a research scientist and have scored above average on both the MCAT and PCAT exams. My tutoring passions are in chemistry, biology, and all things geometry and algebra, but I am comfortable in all K-12 mathematics and science topics. If you’re planning on taking the ACT, I know the ins and outs of the test, having performed well on it myself and having helped several students boost their scores to reach their academic goals.

When I am not at school or out tutoring, I’m at home or at the beach with my wife and our three children.
